Kimberly Cundiff

I have been into art and making things all my life. The senses involved in absorbing and making art. I love lines, patterns, and shapes with bright colors. I draw and doodle as part of my way of developing ideas. I read and write to get inspired which helps to encapsulate a vision into an illustration or paragraph then a story. My mother was the art director and graphic designer at a local college division of television and radio in my Kentucky hometown. This was a huge influence on me in many ways! I have a love and appreciation for television, radio and broadcasting which spans music from all genres, television studios and production, photography and darkrooms, theatre and sound booths, news casting and teletypes, rip off lettering and typewriters and radio, what would I have been as a kid without radio? These and other influences led to a paper route and later a career in the newspaper industry which lasted about 25 years. As a student of graphic design, I finally can see how all these influences and experiences reinforce my skills as a graphic designer and it is so exciting to put all this energy into a new career and beyond!
